Omija (Schisandra) Makgeolli Kit (70g x 4 packets): Makes a total of 1.6L
How to Make It - It's Easy!
Each box contains 4 packets. Use 400ml of water per packet.
For example: 1 packet = 400ml, 2 packets = 800ml, and so on.

First, prepare a bottle to hold the makgeolli.
Pour in the water and add the makgeolli powder.
Leave some space at the top of the bottle for fermentation.

Be sure to stir well so the powder doesn't clump!
If the powder is clumpy, fermentation will take longer.

After 24 hours, it's ready!
Original Plain Shine Muscat Omija(Schisandra)
TeaFren Makgeolli has several key features:
  • Made with 100% Korean rice and yeast.
  • To preserve the authentic taste and aroma of makgeolli, only 100% Korean rice and domestically developed yeast are used.
Q/A

Q1. My makgeolli hasn't fermented completely. Should I throw it away?
A1. No! It may not have fermented fully due to low temperature or insufficient time. As long as the temperature stays above 20°C (68°F), it should be fully fermented within 30 hours. Just give it a bit more time.

Q2. What is the shelf life?
A2. Once it's ready, store it in the refrigerator and consume as soon as possible. It tastes best within 7 days. After that, it may develop more acidity.

Q3. What kind of water should I use?
A3. Use bottled or purified water at room temperature.

Q4. What's the alcohol content?
A4. It varies depending on fermentation, but typically falls between 3.5% and 4.5%.
Caution

Do not seal the bottle completely during fermentation.
The fermentation process produces gas, and sealing the bottle may cause overflow.
